After drawing the sword, the screen should revert back to the Dark World. The Lost Woods Method: From the Dark World, Exploration Glitch into the Lost Woods thieves' hideout (the one with the Heart Piece). There are two alternate methods that basically result in 'Dark Master Swords', of a sort. But let not your heart be troubled, those who would seek the sword which makes the Goddesses retreat. Unfortunately, it seems like the Master Sword is not accessible in the 'Beginning' phase of the game. But I'm still optimistic about this being possible through some means. (I need to re-download bsnes with debugger functionality at some point) I've tried everything that I know to try. Honestly, I'm hoping someone here on ZU has a suggestion or at least a better SNES emulator for isolating bits of RAM. I haven't checked the Guide to Hyrule Magic yet, but I don't think it will be in there. I've looked over MathOnNapkins' documentation of the ALttP rom, and I don't see the memory offsets for the Mirror listed. It's probably a multi-byte value, but it could make use of the game's quadrant system for all I know.
#Alttp snes cheat codes code#
I've tried to isolate the RAM locations of the Pedestal offsets through snes9x's cheat code search, with no success as yet. There's no legitimate way to put a portal at the Light World Master Sword pedestal, but I'd settle for an illegitimate way if anyone knows how.
I'd like to try Attempt 2 from a file that's in a less glitchy condition, but I still have one last idea: The Magic Mirror. I've half a mind to go get the Cane of Somaria, put a block in that spot, lift it, and pray to the Goddesses that something happens! Even so, the fact that there is presently no text on the real Master Sword pedestal is pretty tantalizing. I have to believe that the Master Sword text is just there due to the game phase. However, it literally is in the same spot as the Desert Palace altar. I've tried pressing A all around the invisible altar here, and by golly, I can't trigger the sword drawing sequence. Note once again that this is on Screen 112, the screen that is directly north of Screen 128. I've downloaded a SNES emulator with a debugger, and we'll hopefully be able to determine where the 192 value is coming from. Since I made this post, I've determined that many Light World screens will carry you to Screen 128 in the same way that many Dark World screens will carry you to Screen 192. However, doing so from the Light World will load up the pedestal, albeit with garbled graphics. The Dark World is loading up Screen 192, which is not a real screen.) But unfortunately, doing so crashes the game (Incorrect information. Screen 127, the lower right corner of the Dark World, and Screen 112, the Swamp of Evil. There are two spots in the Dark World from which you can try to clip walls and scroll into screen 128. The Master Sword pedestal is screen 128 of the game's 159 screens. And that got me to thinking: Is it possible to access the Master Sword pedestal from the Dark World? If you could, you could probably draw it with the state my file is currently in. You can make Light World NPCs load up in the Dark World through a few glitches. So basically, I uncovered something that was new to me in ALttP the other day. ĭo you have any idea how this makes me feel inside?ĭelighted! Overjoyed! It is just the greatest day! With it, you should be able to deflect the Princess' Light Arrows. That you found the blade which makes the light retreat. "Oh hi, Link! I just wanted to tell you how fabulous it is Suddenly Ghirahim contacts you telepathically.
